Joining Together

KPBS and the San Diego Public Library have joined together for One Book, One San Diego, a community-wide initiative designed to encourage all San Diegans to read the same book at the same time.

KPBS is also partnering with San Diego State University’s Common Experience, a reading initiative created to stimulate an ongoing conversation around a common theme inside and outside the classroom. Now we will have two books per year for you to read and talk about.

What We're Reading Now

In Three Cups of Tea, author Greg Mortenson, and acclaimed journalist David Oliver Relin, recount the unlikely journey that led Mortenson from a failed attempt to climb Pakistan’s K2, the world’s second highest mountain, to successfully building schools in some of the most remote regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Three Cups of Tea is at once an unforgettable adventure and the inspiring true story of how one man really is changing the world—one school at a time.
