The California Legislature is closing in on its deadline to pass a state budget. If lawmakers don't pass a budget by Wednesday, they will forfeit their pay. With the deadline looming, Governor Jerry Brown is softening his stance on the budget by saying he'll consider a proposal that includes accounting gimmicks and one-time solutions.
