It's been a busy week in Sacramento. On Wednesday, state Democrats passed a proposed budget heavy on one-time fixes and budget gimmicks. The next day, Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed the Democrats' budget because "it continues big deficits for years to come and adds billions of dollars of new debt." In a separate, but related story, lawmakers passed legislation to eliminate state funding for local redevelopment agencies.
