CAVANAUGH: THIS IS KPBS MIDDAY EDITION I'M MAUREEN CAVANAUGH. THE PRESIDENT'S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, IN THE EYES OFTHE BEHOLDER DEMOCRATS PRAISED PRESIDENT OBAMA'S VISION. EPUBLICANS IN THE OFFICIAL RESPONSE CRITICIZED THE VISION AS MORE BIG GOVERNMENT
SAN DIEGO IS A LONG WAY FROM WASHINGTON DC.

TODAY WE HAVE TWO LOCAL PARTISAN VOICES TOGETHER TO DISCUSS WHAT PARTS OF THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH SEEM TO HAVE PARTICULAR RESIDENTS FOR OUR REGION. JOINING ME IS RON NEHRING PAST CHAIRMAN OF THE CALIFORNIAREPUBLICAN PARTY, AND VICEPRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY, RON, WELCOME TO THE SHOW.

NEHRING: THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME.

CAVANAUGH: FRANCINE BUSBY IS HERE FROM THE SAN DIEGO DEMOCRATIC PARTY. WELCOME.

BUSBY: THANK YOU, FOR HAVING ME.

CAVANAUGH: FIRST OF ALL, YOUR OVERALL REACTIONS TO THE PRESIDENT'S SPEECH AND THE MESSAGE YOU TOOK AWAY FROM IT. LET ME START WITH YOU, FRANCINE.

BUSBY: I THOUGHT THE PRESIDENT SPOKE TO SAN DIEGO VERY CLEARLY. HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE MIDDLE CLASS, REBUILDING THE MIDDLE CLASS.
THREE PARTICULAR POINTS HE MADE. FOR SAN DIEGO, ONE IS EDUCATION.
YOU KNOW, SOME SCHOOLS IN SAN DIEGO DO VERY WELL. OTHERS STRUGGLE, AND HAVING A PEAK AGE GROUP GOING TO SCHOOL WOULD CERTAINLY GIVE A HEADSTART TO THOSE KIDS. WE KNOW IT'S THE BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK.
WE NEED A HIGHLY EDUCATED POPULATION HERE. WE CAN CREATE THAT IF WE HAVE HIGH SCHOOLS MODELED ON WHAT THE PRESIDENT TALKED ABOUT. PRODUCING STUDENTS PREPARE FOR WORK.

ANOTHER IS IMMIGRATION. CLEARLY IT'S A SUBJECT THAT HAS TO BE RESOLVED. IT EFFECTS THOUSANDS, TENS OF THOUSANDS, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS,WE DON'T KNOW.

IN SAN DIEGO'S EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC PROGRAMS. AND SCIENCE, WE HAVE TO MOVE FORWARD ON SCIENCE. SAN DIEGO HAS A HUGE ECONOMIC AND EDUCATION INVESTMENT IN SCIENCE AND BUSINESS THAT'S SPUN OFF. THOSE ARE THINGS THAT SPEAK TO US HERE.

CAVANAUGH: RON, YOUR TAKEAWAY FROM THE SPEECH.

NEHRING: BEING A CALIFORNIAN, I'M LOOKING FOR AN AGENDA TO GROW AND MOVE THE ECONOMY FORWARD.WE HAVE FOUR YEARS OF A FAILED ECONOMIC POLICY OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. WE ARE SUFFERING FROM THAT HERE
IN CALIFORNIA.

OUR UNEMPLOYMENT IS WELL ABOVE THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. TEXAS IS WELL BELOW THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. WE'RE SADDLED WITH EXTRA TAXES FROM SACRAMENTO AND THE DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATURE THERE.

I DIDN'T SEE ABOUT MOVING OUR ECONOMY FORWARD TO MAKE THE COUNTRY MORE COMPETITIVE TO EASE THE IMPLICATIONS FROM OBAMACARE AND THE TAX HIKES.

WE HAVE 30 REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS. THEY'RE WORKING HARD TO LOWER TAXES. HERE IN CALIFORNIA THEY'RE GOING UP. THE PRESIDENT SIGNED ONTO A TAX INCREASE RECENTLY.

I DON'T SEE AN ECONOMIC AGENDA HELPING US HERE. SAN DIEGANS ARE HURTING AND HAVING A HARD TIME. THE PRESIDENT IS NOT FOCUSED ON
THAT.

HE'S REVERSING WHAT BILL CLINTON SAID IN 1996, THE ERA OF BIG GOVERNMENT IS OVER. WELL IT LOOKS LIKE WITH THIS
PRESIDENT, THE ERA IS BACK.

CAVANAUGH: I GUESS IT'S NOT A SURPRISE TO OUR LISTENERS THAT FRANCINE LIKED THE SPEECH, RON DIDN'T LIKE IT SO WELL.

LET'S FOCUS IN ON TOPICS. ONE OF THE BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENTS HERE FOR OUR MILITARY PRESENCE. 34,000 TROOPS WILL COME HOME FROM AFGHANISTAN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS. OUR WAR IN AFGHANISTAN WILL BE
OVER IN 2014. THAT’’S WHAT PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID LAST NIGHT IN THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS.

SOME ARE CRITICAL OF OUR PRESIDENT FOR CONTINUING OUR PRESENCE IN AFGHANISTAN. CAN THIS WITHDRAWL COME SOON ENOUGH?

BUSBY: HE SAID WHEN HE WAS RUNNING FOR OFFICE HE WOULD END THE WAR
IN IRAQ AND WORK TOWARDS ENDING THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN.

HE'S DOING IT. HE'S MAKING IT CLEAR WE WILL BE OUT IN 2014 I THINK THAT'S MORE THAN ANYONE CAN EXPECT FROM A PRESIDENT OR GOVERNMENT IN A
4-YEAR SPAN.

LET ME ADDRESS THE VETERANS COMING BACK, THE MILITARY COMING BACK AND RON'S COMMENT ON THE ECONOMY HEADING TOWARDS A SEQUESTER.
THERE ARE SENATORS LIKE RON PAUL WHO WOULD LIKE TO TRIPLE THE TRILLION DOLLAR CUT TO THREE TRILLION OR WHATEVER HE SAID. THE CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE SAID THAT WILL COST 750,000 JOBS THE FIRST YEAR. IT WILL TURN OUR ECONOMY TO A TAILSPIN, CREATING MORE UNEMPLOYMENT.

THAT SEEMS TO BE THE REPUBLICAN PLAN FOR THE ECONOMY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN TALK ABOUT THE ECONOMY WHEN THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HEADING TOWARDS.

CAVANAUGH: WE'RE HEADING IN THIS CONVERSATION TOWARDS THE
SEQUESTER, FRANCINE, WE WILL COME BACK TO IT.

I WANT TO FINISH OUT ON THE PLANS FOR AFGHANISTAN. I KNOW THIS WAS TALKED ABOUT A GREAT DEAL DURING THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE ON TIME TABLES AND SO FORTH. DO REPUBLICANS SUPPORT THIS WITHDRAWAL FROM AFGHANISTAN THAT THE PRESIDENT OUTLINED LAST NIGHT?

NEHRING: REPUBLICANS SUPPORT A POLICY THAT OUR TROOPS SHOULD COME BACK AT A TIME THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED.

WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE AFTER SO MUCH HAS BEEN INVESTED IN THE RESPONSE AFTER 9-11 IN AFGHANISTAN, A HAVEN FOR TERRORISTS THAT WE DON'T ALLOW AFGHANISTAN TO BE A HAVEN FOR TERRORISTS AGAIN.

THE TIMETABLE SHOULDN'T BE A PARTICULAR YEAR. WE DON'T WANT OUR TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN. I WAS IN PAKISTAN A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. IT'S NOT A REGION WE WANT OUR FOLKS TO BE.

THE MISSION HAS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED. THE PRESIDENT SAID AFGHANISTAN
FORCES WILL TAKE THE LEAD, YOU KNOW WE WILL TRAIN THEM AND SUPPORT THEM. WE HAVE BEEN TRAINING AND SUPPORTING THE EGYPTIAN MILITARY FOR YEARS AGO.

EGYPT IS MOVING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, WE HAVE A GROWING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN IRAN AND EGYPT. AFTER THE PRESIDENT'S PERFORMANCE AND THE ADMINISTRATION WITH THE DISASTER ABOUT BENGHAZI. MANY DON'T HAVE A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS.

CHUCK HAIG SAID HE WILL HAVE A DISASTROUS HEARING. NOBODY TRUSTS THIS GUY TO RUN OUR DEFENSE DEPARTMENT.

OUR MEN AND WOMEN NEED A DEFENSE SECRETARY THEY CAN LOOK UP TO,
NOT SOMEONE'S WATER THEY HAVE TO CARRY .

CAVANAUGH: LET'S MOVE TO ANOTHER HUGE ISSUE IN SAN DIEGO. IMMIGRATION REFORM.

RON, THE PRESIDENT TALKED ABOUT A RESPONSIBLE PATHWAY TO EARNED
CITIZENSHIP. WHAT GOP SUPPORT WILL HE GET ON THAT?

NEHRING: I THINK THERE WILL BE A DEBATE ABOUT THAT. WHEN I HEAR POLITICIANS IN WASHINGTON TALK ABOUT COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM WHAT THAT MEANS IS WE SHOULD DO THE THINGS WE AGREE ON AND DO WHAT NOBODY AGREES ON.

THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AS AN APPROACH. WE AGREE WE NEED A SAFE, SECURE MODERN BORDER. WE CAN SUPPORT A GUEST WORKER PROGRAM. WHEN THE McCAIN KENNEDY BILL, CAME UP THE DEMOCRATS VOTED TO
LIMIT THAT GUEST WORKER PROGRAM. IF WE CAN AGREE ON A GUEST WORKER PROGRAM, AND SECURE THEBORDER, AND ADJUSTING IMMIGRATION LEVELS WE CAN DO THOSE THINGS.

IF WE DON'T HAVE A CONSENSUS ON THE PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP AND
SO ON LET'S DO WHAT WE AGREE ON FIRST. THEN HAVE A DEBATE AND DISCUSSION AND TAKE ON THE OTHER ISSUES.

HOWEVER THAT'S NOT WHAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE GOING TO DO. THEY WILL HOLD UP EVERYTHING, EVEN WHAT WE AGREE ONTO DO WHAT THEY'RE PUSHING FOR, FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES.

CAVANAUGH: HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THOUGH?

NEHRING: BECAUSE I'M NOT NEW TO THIS GAME. I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN. EVERYONE SAYS WE CAN AGREE ON BORDER SECURITY.
THEN THEY SAY NO, WE WILL TIE BORDER SECURITY TO DOING THESE OTHER THINGS WHERE THERE ISN'T A CONSENSUS YET.

I THINK WE WILL HAVE A GOOD CONSTRUCTIVE DEBATE ON THIS.

CAVANAUGH: FRANCINE, THERE IS A BIPARTISAN COMMITTEE IN BOTH HOUSES WORKING ON AN IMMIGRATION REFORM PACKAGE, RIGHT NOW. I WONDER. HOWEVER ,SINCE THERE HAS BEEN SO MUCH SAID IN THE LEAD UP TO THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, DID YOU EXPECT MORE DETAILS FROM THE PRESIDENT LAST NIGHT. AND HE DIDN'T SEEM TO SPEND A LOT TIME ON IMMIGRATION REFORM.

BUSBY: THE PRESIDENT HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT IMMIGRATION REFORM SINCE BEFORE – BEFORE HIS FIRST ELECTION IN 2008.

IT'S VERY CLEAR, HE'S VERY CLEAR. COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM. A PATH FOR CITIZENSHIP FOR THE 11 MILLION PEOPLE HERE WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION. THEY HAVE TO MEET CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR THAT.

HE HAS SPENT HIS FIRST THREE TO FOUR YEARS BUILDING UP THE BORDER SECURITY TO A GREATER DEGREE THEN IT'S EVER BEEN BUILT UP. HE HAS DEPORTED MORE PEOPLE THAN ANYONE HAS DEPORTED.

THE REPUBLICANS USE THIS AS A RED HERRING. THEY WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT BUT THEY CAN'T DEFINE THE LEVEL OF SECURITY BORDER HAS.

WHEN THEY WILL START ADDRESSING THE OTHER ISSUES? IF IT'S BEING SPOKEN ABOUT FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES, THE REPUBLICANS ARE DOING IT
BECAUSE THEY WERE BEATEN UP IN THE LAST ELECTION. I THINK THEY RELUCTANTLY ADDRESS THIS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO, NOT
BECAUSE THEY WANT TO.

MEMBERS IN THE HOUSE FOR THEM HAVE MADE IT CLEAR, THEY'RE NOT GOING ALONG WITH IT. I HOPE IT CAN PASS.

CAVANAUGH: I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE LAST ELECTION AND WHAT THAT
MEANS GOING FORWARD IN WASHINGTON ONE OF THE THINGS PRESIDENT
OBAMA SAID LAST NIGHT, FRANCINE, AMERICANS EXPECT LAW MAKERS TO
PUT THE NATION’S INTEREST BEFORE PARTY.

AFTER THE DEMOCRATS STRONG WIN ARE THEY INTERESTED IN WORKING
WITH REPUBLICANS OR ARE THEY TIRED OF MAKING COMPROMISES AND WILL THEY RAM THEIR THOUGHTS THROUGH ON IMMIGRATION?

BUSBY: THE DEMOCRATS ARE EXCITED TO MOVE FORWARD ON THEIR AGENDA AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. THE PRESIDENT TRIED TO COMPROMISE HIS LAST TERM.
IT DIDN'T GET HIM VERY FAR. HE SPENT TOO MUCH TIME TALKING ABOUT HEALTHCARE, MAKING CONCESSIONS AND COMPROMISE AND NOT ONE VOTED FOR IT.

HE MADE IT CLEAR LAST NIGHT. SEND ME THE BILL, I WILL SIGN IT IF YOU DON'T I WILL FIND ANOTHER WAY TO GET IT DONE.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OVERWHELMINGLY AGREE WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA AND THE POSITIONS HE ADDRESSED LAST NIGHT.

IT'S NOT VOODOO, IT'S NOT SPIN. HE SPOKE TO PEOPLE IN A BREAD AND BUTTER, KITCHEN TABLE WAY. I THINK THEY'RE TIRED OF WAITING, SO IS HE.

CAVANAUGH: RON DO, YOU SEE AN ADVANTAGE TO THE REPUBLICANPARTY IN JOINING IN WITH DEMOCRATS ON ISSUES LIKE TAX REFORM AND IMMIGRATION REFORM.

NEHRING: SURE. WHEN REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS AGREE. WE SHOULD DO
THOSE THINGS.

WHAT DEMOCRATS AND THE WASHINGTON PARLOR GAME HAPPENS
TO BE ALL THE TIME, EVEN IF WE AGREE ON SOMETHING, THE DEMOCRATS
AND PRESIDENT OBAMA SAY WE WILL ONLY DO THAT IF WE ATTACH THIS
CONSENSUS.

THAT'S A TRAGEDY. A PRIME EXAMPLE IS IMMIGRATION REFORM IN SAN DIEGO.
THE MOST HEAVILY TRAVELED BORDER CROSS NORTH WORLD HERE. ANYONE THERE KNOWS THE BORDER CROSSING LOOKS LIKE IT HAS THE
EFFICIENCY OF THE TSA. A 3 HOUR WAIT TO CROSS THE BORDER, COMMERCE HELD UP.

IT SHOULDN'T TAKE MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. IT NEEDS TO BE TWICE THE SIZE
AND ROBUST. EVERYONE SHOULD AGREE ON THAT. THEY WON'T ALLOW MEASURES TO MOVE FORWARD TO REFORM AND STRENGTHEN THE BORDER TO BE SAFE, IS SECURE AND MODERN.

THEY HAVE OTHER STUFF TO ATTACH WHERE THERE ISN'T A CONSENSUS
LET'S DO THOSE THINGS. MAYBE THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED
SENATE WOULD LIKE TO DO SOMETHING. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE EXPECT
RESULTS. THAT IS WHY WE ELECT FOLKS IN WASHINGTON.

WE HAVE FOLKS PLAYING POLITICS. THAT'S UNFORTUNATE SEEING THAT
FROM HARRY REID AND THE WHITE HOUSE.

CAVANAUGH: I WANT TO READ TWO QUOTES ABOUT OUR CONGRESSIONAL
DELEGATES, FROM DARRELL ISSA, A REPUBLICAN FROM SAN DIEGO.

HE SAID: TONIGHT I HOPE TO HEAR FROM THE PRESIDENT OUR VISION FOR US WORKING TOGETHER TO CREATE A BETTER AMERICA. INSTEAD I HEARD THE SAME OLD LINES AND REPACKAGED IDEAS OF, SPENDING OUR WAY INTO
PROSPERITY.

HERE IS SUZANNE DAVIS FROM SAN DIEGO.SHE SAID: THE CONGRESS NEEDS
TO WORK WITH THE PRESIDENT TO AVOID A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AND
REPLACE THE SEQUESTER WITH A BALANCED APPROACH AT DEBT REDUCTION.
THIS WILL CREATE CERTAINTY INOUR ECONOMY AND PROTECT THOUSANDS OF MIDDLE CLASS JOBS.

THAT'S JUST A FLAVOR OF THE TWO KINDS OF RESPONSES COMING FROM OUR CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION.

CONGRESSWOMAN DAVIS ADDRESSES THE SEQUESTERATION. A SEQUESTERATION COMING UP WILL HURT THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY IN SAN
DIEGO, CUT FUNDS FROM RESEARCH FACILITIES. THERE IS A HOST OF THINGS IT WILL CUT.

WHAT COMPROMISE DO YOU THINK IT'S WORTH THE PRESIDENT TO MAKE
TO AVOID THE SEQUESTERED CUTS?

BUSBY: ON THE TWITTER FEEDS SOMEONE SAID DARRELL ISSA WALKED OUT
BEFORE THE SPEECH WAS OVER. I DON'T SEE HOW THAT FORMS A
COMPROMISE OR DESIRE TO WORK TOGETHER. SEQUESTRATION WILL HURT
SAN DIEGO.

SAN DIEGO HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS OF FEDERAL FUNDING
COMING IN ACROSS THE BOARD.MILITARY, EDUCATION, INVESTMENT,
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT. 650,000 JOBS IN THE COUNTRY WILL
BE LOST IN ONE YEAR.

A GOOD NUMBER WOULD IMPACT SAN DIEGO. HOW DO THEY WORK TOGETHER?
THEY GO BACK TO WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO. THEY PASSED SEQUESTERATION BECAUSE CONGRESS COULDN'T MOVE FORWARD ON THE BUDGET.

SEQUESTERATION WAS THE ATOM BOMB. THE OPTION THEY WOULDN'T GET TO
BECAUSE NOBODY WANTED IT. THEY NEED TO WORK IT OUT.

THEY HAVE TO COME UP WITH SOME TAX REFORM AND SOME CUTS. THAT WAS WHAT PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS OFFERED THE ENTIRE TIME AS A LONG TERM SOLUTION FOR THE DEFICIT SPENDING.

CAVANAUGH: RON, DO DEMOCRATS FEEL THEY BENEFIT WITH SEQUESTERATION CUTS TAKING PLACE?

NEHRING: NO. THAT'S WHY PRESIDENT OBAMA'S IDEA OF THE SEQUESTRATION IS A HORRIBLE ONE.

I WOULD POINT TO BOB WOODWARD'S BOOK. HE'S A HACK. HE SAID THIS CAME OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. THE WHITE HOUSE DEMANDED
FOR REASONS, ALL WHICH ARE BAD.

REPUBLICANS PASSED IT BECAUSE THE WHITE HOUSE DEMAND DID IT PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS BEEN VERY DEMANDING LATELY. THE LATEST DEMOCRAT EUPHISM IS TAX REFORM. THEY WANT TAX REFORM IF WE PAY MORE MONEY . THIS IS A HORRIBLE IDEA.

IT'S UNFORTUNATE THE PRESIDENT JAMMED IT INTO THE FISCAL CLIFF
DISCUSSIONS. HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THIS GOING FORWARD?

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THE NEXT TEN YEARS WILL RECEIVE DUB 2023
THEN 2013. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE PAYING PLENTY IN TAXES.
THE DEMOCRATS ARE PLAYING POLITICS. THEY DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO MODERNIZE ENTITLMENTS.
WE HAVE SOCIAL INSURANCE

PROGRAMS DESIGNED IN THE 60S AND NOT FUNDAMENTALLY REFORMED
SINCE. WE HAVE LEARNED ABOUT THE CHOICE OF MARKETS AND HOW THEY APPLY.PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFITS PASSED THROUGH PRESIDENT OBAMA'S ASSISTANCE. THEY WON'T WORK AND THEY PLAY GAMES.

WE HAVE A GIGANTIC SPENDING PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY. IF YOU DON'T THINK THAT DOESN'T HAVE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES FOR US LOOK AT GREECE, SPAIN AND PORTUGAL, ITALY.

WE HAVE TO GET THIS UNDER CONTROL. DEMOCRATS WANT MORE TAXES CALLING IT A BILLIONAIRE'S TAX.

CAVANAUGH: I HAVE TIME FOR ONE MORE QUESTION. I'M INTERESTED IN YOUR RESPONSE TO THIS, RON. THE SEQUESTERATION DEADLINE AT
THE END OF THE MONTH, I UNDERSTAND IT.

THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RUN BY THE REPUBLICANS ARE CLOSING,
GOING ON A RECESS FOR NINE DAYS. DO YOU SUPPORT THAT, SHOULDN'T
BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS BE WORKING ON THIS
24/7 TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN?

NEHRING: OF COURSE IT SHOULD. AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
SHOULD HAVE A BUDGET INSTEAD OF THESE RESOLUTIONS.
THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED SENATE HASN'T PASSED A BUDGET FOR 3
YEARS.

THIS ISN'T JUST PRESIDENT OBAMA'S FAULT. HARRY REiD AND THE DEMOCRATS
CONTROL THE SENATE.

WE HAVE A SEPARATION OF POWERS. HOW DO YOU RUN A GOVERNMENT
WITHOUT A BUDGET? ONLY WASHINGTON POLITICIANS CAN
COME UP WITH A WAY TO DO THAT.

CAVANAUGH: YOU THINK THE HOUSE SHOULD STAY IN SESSION?

NEHRING: I THINK THE SENATE HAS TO DEMONSTRATE THEY'RE SERIOUS ON
GETTING SOMETHING DONE. THE HOUSE HAS PASSED ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER.

I THINK JOHN BOEHNER IS RIGHT. IF THE DEMOCRATS THINK THEY CAN
CONTROL AND RUN EVERYTHING LET THEM DO IT. LET'S SEE THE
DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED SENATE PASS A BUDGET FOR THE FIRST TIME
IN THREE YEARS INSTEAD OF CASTING THE POLITICAL GAME ON THE REPUBLICANS, A GAME THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS
TIRED OF.

CAVANAUGH: I'M OUT OF TIME. RON AND FRANCINE, THANK YOU BOTH VERY MUCH.

BUSBY: THANK YOU.

NEHRING: THANK YOU.
