Loving this post, if only because it was Romney’s sound business experience that was supposed to restore fiscal responsibility to Washington.  At least he knew when to cut his losses. 

This article at the New York Times has a great cost-per-delegate breakdown of what the candidates are paying for their shots at their respective nominations, and Romney didn’t do as bad as some of the others.  Maybe knowing it’s your money that being spent has some advantages when it comes time to face reality.

Well, I’m disappointed, of course.  It’ll be interesting to see where all of the Republican votes go now.  Will Republicans, knowing McCain is basically the winner, still vote for more conversative candidates in the remaining primaries just to send McCain a message or will they rally around him in an effort to clear his muddy reputation?

Trina - what exactly do you find “muddy about McCain?”

Well, I personally haven’t decided what to think about McCain yet, but I’m talking about the GOP in general.  Many Republicans I talk with express concern about him because he doesn’t represent their conservative bend.  They feel like he’s a Democrat in disguise.  Ann Coulter is so worried about him that she says she’d vote for Hillary before she would cast a vote for McCain.

But Trina - what do You think about McCain - what specifically has you worried he’s a disguised Democrat? Which of his policies don’t you agree with?

I’m disappointed he’s out.. If McCain wins.. er.. when he wins.. he may have a shot at being president.. Romney made Clinton/Obama a shoe-in…

I still have hope.. I still have hope that the conservatives.. I mean the more concervative conservatives will believe Rush and decide McCain is just a repackaged Democrat (He is, my republican friends!!.. Vote 3rd Party in Novemeber!!)..

Without competition, McCain will be able to coast through the rest of the selection process without having to alienate too many people.. bummer.

Good question, Chris!  Like I said before, I haven’t quite decided which issues warrant my greatest concerns with McCain.  I am worried though. I’m going to keep you in suspense and answer this question on my weekly blog post!

An alternate title, Chris, could be “Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover.” You know, Romney could have simply slipped out the back, Jack. Instead, he made a new plan, Stan. Of course, he was coy, Roy. Then he hopped on the bus, Gus ‘cuz he didn’t need to discuss much. Just dropped off the key, Lee and got himself free.
