“The Sky Tonight” Planetarium Shows

Above: Stars and Constellations

Held the first Wednesday of every month in the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center’s Heikoff Dome Theater, “The Sky Tonight” presents the sky in San Diego as it appears on the night of the planetarium show as well as special topics in astronomy.

Purchase tickets online! Tickets to the planetarium show are limited and often sell out. Members may make advance reservations by calling (619) 238-1233 ext. 810. It is recommended that all others arrive at the Science Center by 6:30 p.m. to purchase tickets. Tickets for “The Sky Tonight” include a visit to the Exhibit Galleries.

Weather and operational requirements permitting, the San Diego Astronomy Association provides free telescope viewing outdoors on the Prado in Balboa Park. This is a separate free event held on the first Wednesday of every month. Planetarium show tickets are not required.

Due to the darkness required in the theater and the sophisticated nature of the material presented, planetarium shows are not recommended for children 5 years and under.

For more information, please call (619) 238-1233 ext. 808.
