On December 17th, 2009, the City of Oceanside invites the public to participate in a "Day Without a Bag" by urging shoppers to forgo the use of disposable plastic and paper bags in favor of reusable totes.
In its second year of celebrating this public awareness campaign for the environment, the City is encouraging all members of the community to be a part of Green Oceanside by participating in "Day Without a Bag" and by using resuable instead of disposable at your local store. In fact, no matter where you live, we are encouraging you to take part in this event by making the choice of reusable at your local store on the 17th and every day thereafter.
To encourage participation in the day's events, the City of Oceanside with the support of local businesses and community organizations, will be distributing several thousand reusable bags at mutiple Oceanside locations throughout the day.
Please visit the City of Oceanside website at www.ci.oceanside.ca.us for location details on where you can get a free resuable bag on December 17th while supplies last. And thank you for giving back to the environment this holiday season by using a reusable bag at your local store on the 17th!
