Shakespeare UnScripted combines these two demanding tasks into one event: a show that pays tribute to the genius of Shakespeare by attempting to spontaneously create a play in his style.
Shakespeare UnScripted has been performed by Impro Theatre since 1999. Originally directed by Brian Lohmann and Dan O’Connor at the Globe Playhouse in Los Angeles, this show has received standing ovations at festivals in Chicago, New York and Austin. Shakespeare UnScripted cast members were also part of the critically acclaimed Unexpected Shaxpeare, a main stage show in the 2006 at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.
Shakespeare UnScripted is a unique opportunity to witness actors revealing their own imaginations in the world of Shakespeare. It is a high-spirited, hilarious show that we hope will engage and inspire the audiences who see us to find a bit of Shakespeare inside themselves, and explore it.
