El MaĆz es Nuestra Vida, an exhibition contemporary art that fosters an understanding of the science and business behind transgenic plants and their effects on traditional agricultural practices and biodiversity. The San Diego exhibition presents video, sculpture, music and photographic by MAMAZ artists and artwork by California artists. Judith F. Baca's corn goddess, magical sculptures by Stephanie Bedwell, calligraphic drawings by Becky Guttin, Laura Alvarez' Detective Agent Sirvienta fights Monsanto. Young artists Favianna Rodriguez and Iris Alvarez political images have a hip-hop vibe. Curated by Alessandra Moctezuma.
