MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO's Teen Producers Project is proud to present its latest documentaries on Saturday, June 13 at 6:30PM at Colina Del Sol Park, 5200 Orange Ave, San Diego CA 92115 (next to the basketball courts) during Sol Summer Nights, a fun evening filled with free food, dance performances, interactive multimedia, community art project, and much more!
Working alongside media arts instructors from the MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego, teen filmmakers interviewed, researched and produced socially conscious documentaries about important issues that impact the lives of students and their parents in their communities. This is a free event open to the public.

“Neighborhoods First: A Roadmap to a Better Future”
MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO's Teen Producers Project in partnership with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is proud to present this documentary focused on creating healthy and sustainable neighborhoods in two San Diego communities; Logan Heights/Memorial and Colina Park in City Heights. The film documents the planning process and addresses the importance of unity and community engagement.
“Tenants Rights”
This documentary tells the story of how substandard housing conditions affect the health and safety of the Valdez family, a family of eight living in San Diego CA. This film aims to raise awareness among renters of their rights as tenants and what to do when faced with problems in their home. It also documents local efforts being made to change housing policies.
“NEIGHBORS: Digital Stories of Community Building”
A collection of narratives recorded from a variety of individuals and organizations active in building stronger, safer, healthier communities in the greater San Diego area, such as Casa Familiar, El Cajon Community Development Corporation, and the MAAC Project.

About Teen Producers Project - MACSD's Teen Producers Project has been working with underserved youth in the community for the past five years and has dedicated itself to educating youth in the media arts and emerging technologies for use in self-expression, community building and social change. Using video production to preserve important community stories, these students address community issues and gain inclusion in our technology based society.
