Entitled “Dollars and Sense,” the event will feature Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) who will discuss personal finances, tips on credit card management, college savings plans, insurance choices and taxes.

“With our state facing one of the worst financial periods in recent memory,” commented Assemblymember Block, “this workshop will provide free, helpful information on how best to get through these tough economic times.”

The CPAs, who are volunteers, are experts from CalCPA Institute—an organization whose core purpose is to support the public and the CPA profession by advancing financial education and improving the financial literacy of Californians. There is no charge for attending the workshop and no financial products will be sold.
