The Securing Our eCity initiative was developed as a way to educate and protect consumers and businesses from the growing threat of cybercrime. The event will include a discussion about online risk factors, including today’s five biggest online threats, the various ways computer users can fall victim to cybercrime and real-life San Diego cybercrime case studies. Attendees will also receive tips on how to stay safe online and will learn about technologies and tools that help reduce and/or prevent cybercrime.
Securing Our eCity is a public initiative designed to counter the rapidly-growing wave of cybercriminal activity. Created by ESET, LLC and a number of consumer advocates, business owners, local governmental agencies and law enforcement, the coalition sets out to educate and protect the public about cybercrime through educational programs, the deployment of modern security technologies and solutions, and coordination of the legislative and law enforcement agencies.
