Friday, May 8, 2009 7:30 p.m. - San Diego Astrological Society will host Jim Hennum Horary Astrology.
Joyce Beers Community Center 3900 Vermont Street San Diego CA 92103 (Hillcrest)
Jim Hennum serves as President of San Diego Astrological Society. And we are in for a treat this month. Jim will be putting down his president’s gavel and share his Sagittarian wisdom coupled with Pisces ascending perception to tackle a branch of astrology that many professionals talk about in hushed whispers -- “oh, you mean HORARY astrology?”
Historically, horary was the form of astrology apprentices learned first, before they were ever allowed to contemplate a natal chart. Come learn some of the basics and get a feel for this ancient and still very useful technique. Horary astrology is the branch of our discipline that deals with answering specific questions based on the configuration of the planets at the moment the question is asked. There are specific rules to follow, and, as with all astrology, the art lies in linking together the story the planets tell.
Horary is a remarkable tool; and in this lecture, Jim will show us how to use some of the basic rules to get useful results for you, your family and friends. Learning to “read the story” of a horary chart improves your ability to read any other chart in astrology as well.
Jim’s greatest hope is that after this lecture you will feel comfortable diving into Horary for its many treasures to be found in its rich pool. In addition to being President of SDAS, he is one of the primary astrology instructors for the California Institute for Open Studies. He is also one of a select numbers of astrologers in the world who are using the Bert Hellinger approach to Family Origin Constellations, as adapted to the astrological horoscope. Jim has worked for several media outlets in San Diego, in both the news and marketing divisions. He is currently beginning work as a private consultant for web designs.
