The Kiwanis Club of San Diego, San Diego State University School of Music and Dance, together with its sponsors invite all music lovers to attend the annual FREE Concert in Balboa Park in honor of Mother’s Day.
The concert features the SDSU Aztec Choir. The Choir, directed by Chris Allen, is comprised of 100 SDSU students, both music majors and non-majors, who perform a wide variety of musical literature, from classical, folk, and spiritual to American musical theater. Together these students will be performing some of the best music in their repertoire such as:
· Kaval Sviri - Hungarian folk song - (women's voices)
· Requiem Aternam-Peter Cornelius (men's voices)
· Sanctus- Nancy Telfer - (women's voices)
· The Water is Wide- arr. Chris Allen (men's voices)
· All My Trials - traditional Spiritual Arr. Bob Chilcotte (whole choir)
· Music Down in My Soul - Moses Hogan
· Blue Skies - arr. by Mac Huff
· Too Darn Hot - arr. Chris Allen
· Selections from Little Shop of Horrors, Cole Porter, patriotic favorites, and other surprises
