Securing Our eCity is a public initiative designed to counter the rapidly-growing wave of cybercriminal activity. Created by ESET, LLC and a number of consumer advocates, business owners, local governmental agencies and law enforcement, the coalition sets out to educate and protect the public about cybercrime through educational programs, the deployment of modern security technologies and solutions, and coordination of the legislative and law enforcement agencies.
Current members include ESET LLC, Websense, Anakam, Breach Security, the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Business Journal.
The event will include discussions about online risk factors, including today’s five biggest online threats, the various ways computer users can fall victim to cybercrime and real-life San Diego cybercrime case studies.
Attendees will also receive tips on how to stay safe online and will learn about technologies and tools that help reduce and/or prevent cybercrime.
