More than 4,000 walkers representing local corporations, families, schools, and other organizations are expected to participate in the San Diego Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) annual Walk to Cure Diabetes. The event will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at UCSD - Thurgood Marshall College from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

On this day over 25,000 walkers will take steps toward a cure in San Diego, Los Angeles and Irvine. Join Southern California Walk to Cure Diabetes!

JDRF is a leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

Directions:

From north of La Jolla:
Take Interstate 5 SOUTH, EXIT on LA JOLLA VILLAGE DRIVE west.
Proceed to GILMAN DRIVE. TURN RIGHT onto Gilman Drive.
You will see a UCSD Campus Information kiosk on the right.

From south of La Jolla:
Take Interstate 5 NORTH, EXIT on GILMAN DRIVE.
TURN LEFT at the stop sign onto Gilman Drive. Continue for about 1 1/2 miles. You will see a UCSD campus information kiosk on the right.
