San Diegans are invited to attend this year’s fall gardening season kick-off event on Saturday, November 14. The Water Conservation Garden, in partnership with San Diego Gas & Electric, will open the fall planting season by offering a large variety of elegant drought resistant plants and providing expert gardening advice during this year’s FREE event.
The Water Smart Gardening Festival will feature expert seminars on exotic options for drought tolerant gardens, ideas on fire safe landscaping and thorough explanations on how to start your own water conserving garden.
A large selection of water smart perennials, shrubs, trees, grasses, cacti, succulents and more will be on sale from Southern California vendors at reduced prices! Come learn insider details on how gardening can improve an outdoor patio’s aesthetics and ambiance, while offering protection from fire dangers and water conservation, during the region’s current drought. It’s crucial for all gardeners to learn how to properly care for and manage their garden. Attend this year’s Water Smart Gardening Festival and take your garden to a whole new level!
Appointments for landscape design consultations should be made in advance by calling 619-660-0614 x10.
Numerous activities are available for children, including face painting and a children’s activity booth. This year’s festival appeals to all ages, from the elderly down to the next-generation gardeners. Landscape designers will offer private, 20-minute consultations about home landscapes. Master composters will reveal how easy it is to turn garden waste into gardener’s gold, and master gardeners will help you with whatever “bugs” your garden.
