The Mission and Outreach Board of The United Church of Christ of La Mesa invites you to a special Serendipity Supper in Friendship Hall on November 15th at 5 p.m.
The acclaimed documentary “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” will be shown with a discussion afterwards. The film shows Liberian women, determined to bring dignity and peace back to their country, responding to Charles Taylor and the warlords armed only with white T-shirts and courage. Earlier this year the women featured in the film were awarded the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage award. The film was directed by Academy Award-nominated, Emmy-winning filmmaker Gini Reticker.
The Serendipity Supper is part of a series of events in conjunction with the United Nations Day of Peace. Please bring casseroles, salads and/or desserts to share. Please note, although inspirational and educational, given its subject and content, it is recommended only for persons ages 14 and older.
The church is located at 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619-464-1519, www.ucclm.org, pastorfelix@cox.net). Get Directions (Google Maps)
