Above: Book cover of "Benjamin Franklin and the Politics of Improvement" (Yale, 2008) by Alan Houston.
While working in the British Library, Alan Houston, a professor of Political Science at UC San Diego, discovered nearly 50 letters by, to, and about Benjamin Franklin. All date to 1755 and document Franklin’s early contributions to the Seven Years War. Join us as Houston discusses his discovery and the ways in which these letters add to our understanding of an American icon.
Free to the public.
