Illuminating the Evolution of Electronic Music:
John Bischoff, electronics, will present an evening in two parts.
In Part 1, he will give an historical slide show of images and sounds from his early work with live computer electronics during the years 1978-1990, extending the American Experimental tradition of instrument building as represented by Henry Cowell, John Cage, and Harry Partch.
In Part 2, he will perform three recent pieces for laptop and sound-making objects. One can think of the pieces as the real-time construction of a sonic collage.
