On October 7th, the Encinitas Barnes & Noble will host a book fair benefitting El Camino Creek Elementary School, which is located in the southern section of the city of Carlsbad. The fair will run from 9 AM to 11 PM, and a portion of the sales of all books, CDs, DVDs, etc., will go to ECC when a special voucher is presented at purchase.
The day’s events will include story time with the Principal of El Camino Creek at 6:30 PM, a performance of a traditional Hawaiian song and dance by one of the ECC kindergarten classes at 6:45 PM, and a reading by Jeff Garcia, ECC parent and author of the new children’s book "Santa Claus and the Molokai Mules: A Hawaiian Island Surfing Adventure," at 7:00 PM.
That same night, the Islands Restaurant in Encinitas will host the elementary school’s very first Restaurant Night. Islands will donate 20% of all ECC sales that night to the school. So, tie in a visit to Islands with a visit to the book fair and make a family evening out of it!
