Bearing Exquisite Witness: Artistic Tributes to Women's Struggles for Peace & Justice

Readings Include:

"Dog and Wolf," by Catherine Filloux - When Joseph, an American asylum lawyer took the case of Jasmina, a human rights worker and refugee from Bosnia, he didn't realize the emotional and moral questions he would confront. Follow Joseph as he learns the true meaning of asylum.

"Maria Kizito" by Erik Ehn - Based on true events that occurred during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, the story unfolds of Maria, a Rwandan Benedictine nun of Hutu descent who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her active involvement in the death of 5,000 to 7,000 Tutsis. Maria's story is one of devotion, religious faith and dementia, and the moment when these convictions form a dangerous alliance.
