North American Competitiveness, Innovation & Clean Energy Conference
The U.S. Commerce Secretary, Gary Locke, and his Canadian and Mexican counterparts are coming to San Diego to discuss improvements in sustainability and future growth for the green industry at the North American Competitiveness, Innovation and Clean Energy Conference.
As the global marketplace becomes increasingly competitive, representatives from the United States, Canada and Mexico are coming together to focus on how to advance innovation and competitiveness, and remove obstacles that hinder potential industry growth. Trilateral North American cooperation will be used as a driving force to increase job growth in the 21st century. Recommendations based on the outcomes of the conference will be shared with Mexico’s government officials when the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Mexico Business Center travels to Mexico City in April.
San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and Tijuana Mayor Jorge Ramos will introduce both U.S. and foreign ministers during the keynote luncheon address, which will focus on competitiveness, innovation and education.
Locke will be joined by Canadian Minister of Industry, Tony Clement and Mexico Secretary of Economy, Gerardo Ruiz Mateos. Other invited participants include California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Baja California Gov. Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan.
The conference is made possible through help provided by Sempra Energy, Kyocera and Sentre Partners Vesta.
