News about Somalia and Somalis occupy the front page news. Whether it’s about naval piracy, young boys missing from their homes, the Somali civil war or the Islamic groups that control parts of the country, Somalia is a country that attracts headline news. In this novel the quiet lives of Somali refugees in America take center stage, providing a welcome window into the culture, lives and ways of Somalis. Books will be available for sale and signing by the author.

Ms. Maxamuud lives in San Diego and parts of the story are based in San Diego.
