The San Diego Museum of Art is dedicated to presenting programs that complement and enhance the public’s enjoyment and understanding of visual art and its connection to other art forms. Screen on the Green is one of the two film series the Museum will be presenting this year.

Screen on the Green, San Diego’s treasured outdoor film fest, is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year. Screen on the Green offers three film screenings that take place at sunset in the heart of Balboa Park.

Viewers are invited to “pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and bring their friends” to enjoy a leisurely evening under the stars. Traditionally, more than 800 viewers attend each film. This program is free to the public.

Dates are select Friday nights and include: July 23, August 6 and August 20. Screen on the Green movies begin at 8:00 p.m. on the East lawn.

Screen on the Green Schedule:

Friday, July 23: Jason and the Argonauts (1963)- Presented in conjunction with Heroes: Mortals and Myths in Ancient Greece.

Friday, August 6: The King of Masks (1996) - This award-winning film is presented in collaboration with the San Diego Asian Film Festival, and celebrates the Museum’s renowned collection of Asian Art.

Friday, August 20: Moulin Rouge (1952)- Presented in conjunction with Toulouse-Lautrec’s Paris: Selections from the Baldwin M. Baldwin Collection.
