Above: Promotional event flyer for Jon Block Creations's Love Struck event, inspired by La Jolla Playhouse's current production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Inspired by La Jolla Playhouse's current production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Love Struck is a very fun and amorous runway fashion & high art experience set in the rolling garden area outside of LJP's Weiss Theatre.
The evening begins at 5:00 p.m. with a music-infused cocktail mixer and art exhibition on the Playhouse’s Weiss Lawn, followed by a vintage apparel showing, featuring the SDWHM collection, at 6:00 pm.
At 7:15 pm will be a high fashion runway show with a special introduction from Playhouse Artistic Director and Midsummer director Christopher Ashley. The evening caps off with a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 8:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to Midsummer for $40.00.
Admission to LOVE STRUCK is FREE and open to all-ages. DJ Rob "Hitman" Hartz spins throughout. There will be a full-service themed bar for 21 & up guests.
Produced by Jon Block Creations, and curated by Anjela Piccard, this Theater-Fashion-Art experience is the latest JBC production to merge multiple creative mediums while bringing top San Diego talent to the forefront. The non-profit partner for this event is San Diego Visual Arts Network; LOVE STRUCK is one of the major highlights of their Art Meets Fashion Fringe Event series.
