An Opening Reception Gala at the Lyceum Theatre Gallery will be held to celebrate the commencement of the sixth annual Art of Photography Show, an international competition and exhibition of photographic art based in San Diego.
This year the competition received nearly 14,000 entries from 67 countries worldwide –the largest number of countries represented in the history of the competition. Acclaimed judge Natasha Egan, the Associate Director and Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, spent nearly a week with the Art of Photography Show Director Steven Churchill and narrowed down the thousands of entries to only 111 exceptional images that will be included in this preeminent photography exhibition running from August 28 to November 7.
The Art of Photography Show expects the exhibit to be viewed by at least 30,000 people. This year’s Show has extended its global reach more than ever before, seeing as Ms. Egan’s photography selections will be representing 25 different countries from around the world. The Art of Photography Show is proud to be displaying the notable works of at least twice as many countries than last year’s exhibition.
