Now in it's 43rd year, California Ballet brings is proud to present the largest and longest running production of "The Nutcracker" to San Diego audiences this December.

Countless families have enjoyed this holiday tradition since California Ballet’s premiere. A wonderful ballet for the entire family, The Nutcracker is the perfect way to introduce young children to the power and beauty of classical dance. Tchaikovsky’s magical score and Maxine Mahon’s dazzling theatrical staging combine to create a memorable event.

Performance Dates:
December 18 at 2:30 p.m. & 8:00 p.m.
December 19 at 1:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.
December 21 at 2:30 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.

About the show:
The Nutcracker tells the story of a young girl named Clara who is given a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. Later that evening, Clara encounters toy soldiers who have come to life to do fierce battle with some giant mice before embarking on a journey through the Snow Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sweets.

The only Nutcracker production in town accompanied by live music, the San Diego Symphony will accompany all performances at the Civic Theatre under the direction of California Ballet Music Director John Stubbs.
