Friday Night Liberty At NTC Promenade Arts & Cultural District

Held the first Friday of every month, explore the NTC Promenade Arts & Cultural District and enjoy a FREE evening of art, receptions, music, food, drink and exhibits, while supporting local artists and designers on Feb. 4, 2011 at 5 p.m.

You’re invited to the NTC Promenade Arts & Cultural District for an evening of happenings. At the Mandell Weiss Gallery at Dance Place San Diego, a New Gallery Exhibit at Dance Place Captures Auditions and Art of the Dance.

Jean Isaacs, Artistic Director of San Diego Dance Theater - renown for her innovative ‘Trolley Dances’ - has collaborated with photographer Chris Pantaleoni and painter Peggy Fischbeck from Barracks 19 at NTC Promenade to create an exhibition featuring dancers from her company and San Diego.

Sophie’s Gallery and Gift Shop presents Gotta’Have Heart: Asian Fusion Valentine celebration featuring Asian-inspired art, jewelry and scrolls. Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles invite you to view extraordinary quilt and textile and The San Diego Watercolor Society Gallery’s Passion for Paint is representative of some of the best watermedia artists working today.

Other happenings include: a community mosaic at Bravo School of Art to experience what it's like to adhere broken dishes and tiles to a table top and create a work of art. View works at artist Kevin Winger’s Mod-Est Gallery, fiveloaves twofish will be having a fabric sale; enjoy coffee and artisan chocolates at Chi Chocolate; ARTS Gallery – featuring a young artists show and sale; and at the Recreational Music Center enjoy music in a comfortable and inviting coffee house style setting.

Open to the public, musicians have the opportunity to perform with their own band, as a soloist or as part of an instructor led ensemble .
