Join Congregation Beth Israel, First United Methodist Church of San Diego, and the Islamic Center of San Diego together with the Chinmaya Mission, Temple Emanu-El and others in the National Day of Service in memory of Martin Luther King, Jr.
In its second year, all are invited to help beautify a community treasure, Balboa Park, during a morning of hands-on community service. Meeting at 9:00 a.m. behind the Hall of Champions, the group will work outdoors clearing and hauling brush, mulching and planting. At noon they will share in a bring-your-own picnic on the lawn.
Register at www.fumcsd.org/KingDay through January 15 or show up the day of the event. All are welcome.
