About the Author:
China Miéville is a three-time winner of the prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award ("Perdido Street Station," "Iron Council" and 'The City & The City") in addition to winning the British Fantasy Award for both "Perdido Street Station" and "The Scar." "The City & The City," an existential thriller, was published in 2009 to dazzling critical acclaim and drew comparison with the works of Kafka, Orwell and Phillip K. Dick as well as winning the British Science Fiction Award and being shortlisted for the Nebula and Hugo prizes.
The author’s new novel "Kraken" has been well-received and succeeds, according to The Guardian newspaper, “in reforming the urban fantasy around a tougher, funnier and more intellectually demanding core.” Recently the author was selected by The Telegraph newspaper as one of Britain’s best novelists under 40 “who are the defining literary voices” of the 21st century.
San Diego Writers, Ink nurtures writers and those wishing to explore the craft of writing, in addition to fostering a literary community, promoting literature and celebrating artistic diversity. There is information about this organization online at www.sandiegowriters.org.
