On Saturday, June 26, from 3-5 p.m. the United Nations Association will be hosting an event at the University of San Diego’s Joan Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. We will be celebrating the 65th Anniversary of the signing of the Charter of the United Nations which founded the UN and signifies member nations' commitment to peace, universal human rights and international cooperation.
We will also be celebrating refugees in our community and sharing their experiences in honor of World Refugee Day (June 20th). Distinguished guests from the community will hold a panel discussion on refugees and their connection to the UN Millennium Development goals.
The event will include live entertainment, wine and cheese, a silent auction, and opportunities to connect with members of San Diego’s diverse community of refugees from around the world.
The event is free and open to the public.
The United Nations Association is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to build better public understanding of – and support for – greater international cooperation through the United Nations within the San Diego community.
If you are able to attend the event, please RSVP by June 23 to email@example.com.
