Garrison Keillor of National Public Radio will speak at Point Loma Nazarene University in a night of comedy and reflection. Keillor is the host of NPR’s "A Prairie Home Companion." The event will be held in PLNU’s Brown Chapel.
As a part of the PLNU Benefit Series, proceeds will go to the San Diego Police Foundation’s SafetyNet: Smart Cyber Choices™ program. SafetyNet provides parents with tools to untangle the web of confusion they often feel about their kids’ cyber activities. In middle school classrooms, educators use SafetyNet activities to help children make safe and responsible cyber choices.
The San Diego Police Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization that enhances public safety and crime prevention. It funds specialized training, state-of-the-art supplementary equipment, and community-focused programs that are not covered by the public approved budget.
This event was rescheduled from Sept. 24, 2009, when Keillor was unable to attend due to health reasons.
