Did you ever wonder how the fleece of a sheep becomes a blanket, or the wool off of a Cashmere goat becomes a sweater? Well, wonder no longer! On Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th, the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center will host Sheep to Shawl 2009, a demonstration of the process of turning wool into fabric.
Members of the San Diego Creative Weaver’s Guild and students from Grossmont Adult Education will demonstrate the use of spinning and weaving equipment each day from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Weavers will present an assortment of techniques that create unique handspun and hand-woven items including clothing, accessories, and textile art.
