SDSU'S 'Polyphonic: A Workshop & Reading Series' Featuring Brian Henry & Deniz Perin

SDSU's MFA program in collaboration with The Writers Collective, The Living Writers Series and Poetry International is excited to announce the return of SDSU’s “Polyphonic: Workshop and Reading Series."

The reading presentations are scheduled for Monday evenings and will feature interactive writing activities and special book-signings. The workshops are scheduled for Sunday afternoons and will last about 3 hours.

They will range from the craft of fiction/creative non-fiction/poetry to the art of translation, Space is likely to fill up fast, so if you are interested please contact Meagan Marshall at marshall_Meagan@yahoo.com.

Brian Henry is the author of six books of poetry—"Astronaut" (published in the U.S., Slovenia and England), "American Incident", "Graft" (published in the U.S. and England), "Quarantine" (winner of the Alice Fay di Castagnola Award from the Poetry Society of America), "The Stripping Point", and "Wings Without Birds". His seventh book "Lessness" is forthcoming from Ahsahta Press in 2011.

Deniz Perin received an MFA in Poetry from SDSU in 2007. Her work and translations have appeared in various national and international literary journals, including Poetry International, Atlanta Review, The New Review of Literature, Transcript, Words Without Borders, and many others. She has been finalist for a number of poetry competitions, and in 2007 she received the Anna Akhmatova Fellowship for Younger Translators.

Scripps Cottage is located on the West side of San Diego State University's campus. Nearby parking: lot W and Parking Structure #4.
