The “Pleasure of Your Company” music series sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library presents international soprano Hallie Neill and Metropolitan Opera baritone Theodore Lambrinos in the informal and intimate setting of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center.
Opera singers with a gift for comedy, they will be accompanied by pianist Ronald Morebello, as they invite you to join them on a journey through the magical world of opera to the powerful show-stoppers of Broadway— from Puccini to Andrew Lloyd Webber—with a few surprising detours.
About the Performers:
Raised in San Diego, Hallie Neill met her future husband, Metropolitan Opera baritone Theodore Lambrinos, while they were singing Carmen together with the Cairo Opera Company in Egypt. They have been making beautiful music together ever since, throughout the U.S. and abroad. Miss Neill has been called a "rapturous singing actress" by The New York Times" and by Placido Domingo “a beautiful soprano with a voice of glory.” Mr. Lambrinos, who has sung over 60 major baritone roles with the Metropolitan Opera and opera companies throughout the U.S. and abroad, has been described as one of the finest Verdi baritones appearing before the public today. His appearance at the Metropolitan Opera in the title role of Rigoletto was critically acclaimed as a "gripping performance that brought down the house."
