The Three Jays Concert Celebrating The Life Of Debussy

The "Pleasure of Your Company" chamber music series sponsored by Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library celebrates the life of Claude Debussy on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m. in a program entitled “Claude Debussy: Flower Child, Impressionist, Revolutionary."

Featuring mezzo-soprano Janelle DeStefano, pianist James Frimmer and musician/poet Joanne Regenhardt as narrator, collectively known affectionately as “The Three Jays,” the performance interweaves biographical narration with songs and piano music by Claude Debussy. Come enjoy chamber music at its best in the intimate setting of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center.
Janelle DeStefano has been praised for her "magnificently executed vocal cascades" and her "passionate delivery."  She has sung on regional operatic, orchestral and musical theater stages across the United States.  Winner of several vocal competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Ms. De Stefano is currently working on a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Southern California.

James Frimmer received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in piano performance from the University of Redlands.  Recognized as a brilliant accompanist and solo performer, he has won concerto competitions and is an active chamber musician.

Known to San Diego audiences since 1955 when she represented San Diego in the San Francisco Opera auditions and first appeared with the Starlight Opera, Joanne Regenhardt has enjoyed a long career as a singer throughout southern California. More recently she has published a book of poetry and has created and narrated critically acclaimed musical programs about the lives of Chopin, Brahms and Rachmaninoff, in addition to her most recent work highlighting Debussy's life and music.
Meet the artists at a complimentary reception following the concert.  There is no charge for the concert, although donations are appreciated.  Call 858-538-8158 or visit for more information.
