Caprice Strings To Present 'Music Box Mischief' At Central Library

The fifth program in the San Diego Public Library fall concert series will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. The concert will feature Caprice Strings (Natalka Kytasty, violin; Francesca Savage, viola; Jenny Epler, cello) along with David Savage, woodwinds. The concert will be held in the third floor auditorium of Central Library, located at 820 E Street in downtown San Diego. Google Map
This is a family event, which will include freebies and audience participation, so adults are encouraged to bring children.
The program is as follows:
Debussy: Syrinx (Solo flute)
Reich: Clapping music (2 musicians)
Folk Song: Row, Row, Row Your Boat (Audience with trio and clappers; violin, cello)
Telemann: Canonic Duet Sonata No. 2 (flute, viola)
Telemann: Don Quixote Suite (flute, violin, viola, cello)
Beethoven: Für Elise (Francesca Savage; string trio)
Gounod: March of the Marionettes (violin, viola, bassoon)
Chopin: Nocturne, Op. 9, No. 2 (string trio)
Ponchielli: Dance of the Hours (string trio and colors
Pizzi: Ode to a Toad (mystery instrument???)
Mozart: Flute Quartet in C, K. 285b (flute, violin, violin, viola, cello)
The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available at the lot adjacent to the Library on Broadway and 8th Avenue, courtesy of Five Star Parking. In addition, parking meters are not enforced on Sundays, and other pay parking lots are available in the vicinity of the library.
