The second concert in the San Diego Public Library fall concert series will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. The concert will feature flutist Lori Bell and pianist Diane Snodgrass in a program of mostly 20th-century chamber music.
The concert will be held in the third floor auditorium of Central Library, located at 820 E Street in downtown San Diego. Google Map
*Free parking is available at the lot adjacent to the Library on Broadway and 8th Avenue, courtesy of Five Star Parking. In addition, parking meters are not enforced on Sundays, and other pay parking lots are available in the vicinity of the library.
The concert is free and open to the public.

Samuel Barber: Canzone; A Swan
Sofia Gubaidulina: Allegro Rustico
Erwin Schulhoff: Sonata for Flute and Piano
Lukas Foss: Composers Holiday
About Lori Bell:
Brooklyn native Lori Bell is a flutist and composer of admirable depth and broad musical sympathies. A resident of San Diego, she has contributed to the development of higher standards of performance in both jazz and classical music, while earning acclaim from both peers and critics for her artistry on stage and in recordings. She received Grammy® nominations for her work in the CDs "Interplay" (1998) and "Lori Bell" (2002).
Music critic Frank Rubolino has written about Ms. Bell’s work in Cadence Magazine: "The flute takes on warm characteristics in the hands of Lori Bell. She makes the music happen with her wide range of improvising skills and melodious tonality"
About Diane Snodgrass:
Pianist Diane Snodgrass appears regularly as soloist and chamber musician in the San Diego area. Recent performances include solo appearances with the San Diego Symphony, the Cabrillo Chamber Orchestra, the Classics for Kids Philharmonic, and the Opera de Tijuana. She has been actively performing the repertoire for two pianists for over 20 years and now collaborates regularly with Lori Bell and San Diego Symphony pianist Mary Barranger.
