Create a visual metaphor for life, an autobiographical statement, or a shrine at the Bravo School of Art with instructor Sharon Novak on Sunday, April 3 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Start with a flat piece of wood as a base. Create images or shapes out of thin-gauge brass and copper as you learn to cut, texture, color and form metal dimensionally using metalworking tools and techniques. Add collage materials, acrylic paint, elements recycled from daily life or found in nature. Many of these will be provided but feel free to bring your own collection of inspirational bits and pieces from home. Assemble and attach everything to your base using a variety of colorful nails and tacks as well as bent, coiled and twisted wires.
