'Cellular Journey' Lecture Series
Above: Promotional photo from the "Cellular Journey" exhibition that features a series of interactive exhibits designed to introduce you to human cell biology, the importance of stem cells and the potential impact of stem cells on medical research in the fields of regenerative and personalized medicine at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.
The lecture titled, "The Biology of Stem Cells: Is this Nature's Tool Kit for Constructing & Maintaining the Body?" is taking place on April 12th, 2011. Arrive at 5 p.m. and visit the new exhibition "Cellular Journey" and then the lecture will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Stem cells offer an intriguing mix of controversy, discovery, and hope. Join Dr. Evan Snyder to learn how the study of stem cell biology will provide insights into many areas: developmental biology, homeostasis in the normal adult, and recovery from injury.
Then participate in our discussion to explore the basic biology of stem cells, their role throughout the lifetime of an individual, and their therapeutic potential.
$5 Admission includes: Interactive discussion / lecture and private access to the exhibition.
