Team Godfather Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building charitable capital, for the purpose of donating nationally and locally to medical research, funding philanthropic grants, and helping those with individual needs, while emphasizing the “fun” in fundraising.
In September 2009, Michael Ramirez (a.k.a. Godfather) was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In May 2010, Mike and his wife, Maureen, friends and family co-founded Team Godfather Charitable Foundation (TGCF) with the immediate goal of donating 100% of funds raised to scientific research, where the most current and progressive clinical trials are being studied.
ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, afflicts approximately 30,000 people at any given time in the United States. ALS is a terminal neuromuscular disease that causes complete paralysis. There currently is no cure or treatment. It is Team Godfather’s belief that ALS is not an incurable disease, only an underfunded one.
