Gourds have been used in many cultures across the continents and throughout the centuries. They were used as utilitarian vessels as well as expressions of art. Learn how to choose, clean and cut your gourd with instructor Carol Lang.
Then, express yourself in dying, painting, wood-burning and embellishing your one-of-a-kind gourd. You may make a bowl, birdhouse or a covered container.
A demonstration of the use of basket weaving techniques for decorating gourds will also be included.
This class takes place on Saturday, June 11th, 2011 at 10am – 3pm and Monday, August 8 at 10am – 3pm.
