Peter Murphy, the Godfather of Goth, didn’t let go of his love for haunting ballads and gloomy lyrics when parting from English rock band Bauhaus in 1983. The vocalist kept on with metaphysical and religious themes that took on new forms ranging from pseudo-pop to goth-industrial well into the late ‘80s and ’90s. Murphy’s recently released solo album, Ninth, brings a precise blend of gloom, punk, and goth.
The pairing of Peter Murphy and She Wants Revenge seems like a match made in 80’s dark-dance heaven, and it’s an event California-based duo Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin have had their sights on for a few years now. While touring extensively with synth-pop band Depeche Mode and Placebo through 2006, She Wants Revenge expressed a keen interest in one day sharing a stage with their heroes, Bauhuas.
