Teen Art Council Presents 'DocShop'

MCASD’s Teen Art Council (TAC) presents DocShop, a program that pairs a documentary film with a hands-on workshop for high school students.
Dogtown and Z-Boys explores the rebirth of skateboarding in Los Angeles during the 1970s. Newly-developed industrial materials helped to create a better skateboard and also inspired the artists featured in the Museum’s current exhibition, Phenomenal: California Light, Space, Surface, to create works of art with these materials.
Following the 90-minute film, participants will explore selected works from Phenomenal with members of the Teen Art Council and then experiment with using industrial materials towards an artistic end in a TAC-led workshop.
To Register: send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “DocShop Registration” that includes your name, high school, and grade.
Date: Saturday, December 10th, 2011 from 1-4 p.m.
