The Japanese Friendship Garden will conduct a special afterschool karate program for children ages 6-12 within the perfect setting of a Japanese-style garden.
Shorin Ryu Karate from Okinawa places greatest importance on kata (forms). Its philosophy is symbolized in maxims such as "never strike first" and "win without fighting.” Come and practice different types of kata, and learn discipline of Shorin Ryu Karate. Classes take place 3:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. on Fridays and are tailored for children age 6-12 and are lead by instructor Rafael Gutierrez.
