A lesson in SanDiego History that is seldom told...this is what I have learned from the Mormon Battalion Commemoration. Hands on family activities for all ages, people dress in period costumes of the 1840's. It is a great day to visit Old Town State Park, have a great lunch and enjoy the festivities. This will be my 6th year in attendance, I wouldn't miss it...Jan. 29.

Great event for the whole family. Don't forget to make it up to the new Mormon Battalion Historical Center opened last year. They have a free tour that's more like something Disneyland would do. BEST HISTORICAL EVENT IN SAN DIEGO.

This event in Old Town is my favorite of the year. So much for families to do while learning a bit of San Diego History at the same time. You will feel thrown back in time with so much for the kids to do.. it's a DO NOT MISS. And it's all FREE!!! Can't wait!

This is a great event -- a Pioneer celebration, and fun for everyone. Last year I took my grandson (7 years old) and a couple of his neighborhood friends who are not Mormons. They all had a wonderful time at the booths making things, and joining in the marches around Old Town Plaza -- we actually stayed for hours, just because they were having so much fun!

This event in Old Town State Park is the most lively and family oriented festival of the year. Free hands on exhibits and pioneer crafts for the kids. Authentic costumes, interactive booths and lots of things to see and do for all ages. Don't miss this event!

I'm looking forward to another great event. Kids love this! Old fashion-family fun with games, activities and of course the re-enacted march of the Battalion that came to San Diego. Don't miss the facility across from Heritage park....WAY COOL technology!
