Viennese Nights: A Grand Victorian Ball

The San Diego Vintage Dance Society hosts its 7th annual traditional 19th century formal winter ball, celebrating the music and dances of the Strauss family and their contemporaries, in the magnificent 12,000 sq. ft. Balboa Park Club ballroom.

San Diego's Grand Pacific Waltz Orchestra will provide live authentic period music for Viennese Waltzes, Polkas, Schottisches, Quadrilles, and more, while the eminent Ms. Joan Walton will serve as Dance Mistress for the evening. She'll also conduct a "Survival Waltz" workshop at the venue, noon-2pm on the day of the ball.

Doors open at 6:45 pm; music starts at 7 pm. Formal eveningwear required (mid- to late-19th century encouraged, but optional). Light refreshments will be included. Registration details and forms can be found on website.

Costs:
Tickets pre-paid by January 15 2011: $35/person or $240/tables of 8.
Door price: $40/person.
Students & military w/ID: $25.
