Join us for a piano concert celebrating the music and words of Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, in honor of his 200th birthday on Jan. 30, 2011 at 3 p.m. All proceeds benefit undergraduate scholarships at UC San Diego.
This bicentennial tribute is part of a worldwide celebration in 2011 to recognize a truly seminal figure of the Romantic Movement in music. This evening features some of the Hungarian composer’s favorite pieces, accompanied by readings of letters to and from Liszt.
In celebration of Liszt's 200th birthday, "bicentenial cake" and refreshments will be served. Proceeds from ticket sales and 100% of any additional donations go directly to the endowed Lytle Scholarships which support outstanding first-year students from The Preuss School UCSD who are attending Thurgood Marshall College at the University of California, San Diego.
