Sharon Novak teaches you to create a pair of unique sculptural earrings in sterling silver using basic jewelry/metalworking techniques and tools! Design and cut shapes out of thin-gauge silver, texture the surface with hammers, stamps or punches, and bend or “form” your earrings to add dimension.
Create movement with linear elements of twisted, bent or coiled wires. Add color contrast by “cold-connecting” copper or brass elements with wires or rivets and attaching colorful glass beads. Add ear wires and wear your earrings home! All tools and materials will be provided. The class takes place Monday, March 7 2011 at 10a.m. – 4p.m and another class Saturday, April 2 2011 10a.m. – 4p.m.
Materials fee $18
